The idea of ABC doing this causes me to They don't want to air any of the negatives to this health plan. The whole thing was staged and ridiculous.

Re: tonight's gov't infomercial on ABC
-First off, they (ABC) doesn't have to do anything. -Second, your gov't could of paid for all the commercials during that time -Third, just cause its not working in Britain (for the people interviewed), doesn't mean it couldn't work here or would be the same exact method. -Fourth, lets interview people that says it works to have an even debate.
Just cause there is a gov't sponsored plan doesn't mean you have to use it Its a choice, an option and perhaps more cost-effective for some people that pay high premiums or a person that doesn't have any coverage..i would think that is who this plan is for.

1. According to what I heard (and I admit I didn't watch the infomercial), ABC said it the program would present both sides. Many felt they didnt' do that. (Can't comment personally b/c I didn't see it.)
2. If the government paid for it, where do you think they got the money? Our tax dollars.
As for the rest of it -- even if I don't want to use a government sponsored health program, it affects ME, it affects the healthcare industry in this country, and it affects all of us. Not ALL of the effects of a universal or government-sponsored healthcare program are positive ones, IMHO. So even if I didn't want to use it, it still affects me.

Re: tonight's gov't infomercial on ABC
We were out last night so didn't see the program, and can't comment on it. Personally, I don't yet have an opinion on any of the plans put forth by the Dem side of the debate. Some do sound not great to me, others sound ok.
However, I am sick of the anti-government run HC side of this debate (read: right wing) only using scare tactics and not offering up any solutions. If we are going to fix the problems with the system, then there better be some options with meat attached to them. Only one side is offering any kind of solutions right now (bad, or otherwise), and thats the Dems.
Seriously, the commercials down here in the DC area are driving me nuts. Sinister voices in the background with an overlay picture of the Canadian flag waiving over top the image of the US Capitol Bldg. GIVE ME A BREAK.
Stop trying to scare people and offer up a concrete suggestion/answer to fix our problems!!!

Re: tonight's gov't infomercial on ABC
Yes, it does effect everybody but the fact that not everybody has healthcare effects us too. I think we (this country) are use to paying for stuff that doesn't reflect us..At least this should help people..
The system(health care) in general sucks as I have been dealing with healthcare for medical reasons since 2004 and seen over 40 doctors. Its not fun trying to get somebody to fix they people you love.
I didn't watch the infomercial either so my comments were more of an overview of the topic in general.
NYS tax dollars are being well spend at the moment with our state gov't fighting and bickering with each other..i don't see many people complaining about that.. I forgot the number but over a million dollars is lost a day with the in-fighting they are having.

Interesting article on Rick Scott, the man in that YouTube rebuttal.
