Too much research can be a bad thing.
When you are worried and stressing out about something, do you find yourself looking all over the internet for information on the thing you are stressing about and it just results in making you more stressed out?
I think maybe sometimes it just better to leave things alone.
(I am not talking about a life or death situation here)

Re: Too much research can be a bad thing.
I am always researching medical things regarding my son's disability. Sometimes I wish I didn't know so much ... knowledge can be dangerous.

Re: Too much research can be a bad thing.
Yes!
Right before DH's surgery I kept researching and researching and it started to drive me a little batty.
I mean, I'm all for being informed, you just have to be careful where you get your information from and what information you choose to believe.

Re: Too much research can be a bad thing.
Yes, I tend to be a big researcher but not just the internet. I find that the internet has too much unsubstantiated information on it. It's enough to drive you crazy.

Please I was convinced I was going to loose an eye! It was only a stupid rash on my eyelid that a dab of cortizone cream took care of it. Too much research is your worst enemy..IMO

Re: Too much research can be a bad thing.
I do preliminary internet research for things and then follow up with more reliable sources.
I NEVER rely on the net for medical advice - especially when I have read coflicting information on the same topics. The fact that some people rely on the net as gospel scares the poo out of me.

It's a very bad thing. I research everything and tend to drive myself a bit crazy before making decisions.

(I am not talking about a life or death situation here) UGH. YES...and my Dr yells at me all the time for it & offered this explanation: the websites that are written by Drs are basically p*ssing matches to see who can have the most rare & severe case of whatever topic. What ends up happening is that to a lay-person we then think that everything is the worst case scenario & freak out.
I love my Dr.
