Toodler foot gear while at home

We are letting DS walk to and from the car to expose him to walking outside. I don't want to have him use the same shoes he uses outside while in the house. What shoes does your child wear while at home? I have tried letting him wear socks but he is constantly slipping on our floors.

while home - Emma doesn't wear shoes...she's either barefoot or we have her on a feety pj.

they make socks with little gripper thingies on them - maybe that's a good idea??

if we were home - honestly, i can't imagine Emma keeping shoes on...she yanks her socks off the instant they touch her feet...so that's why we tend to keep her in the feety pj's - this way at least we KNOW her feet are warm...

They are the best, great quality soft leather, stay on feet don't slip off, machine washable, really comfy and cheaper than anything I've found like it.

Eta: barefoot is best when they are learning to walk, but we have hardwood floors throughout and it gets cold, this is next best thing.
Ds rips socks off, but if the shoes are on, he struggles with it and gives up, and forgets they are on.

DS either wears socks with grippies on the bottom or slippers. I found a pair at BRU that velcro across the top.

DS wears the Children's Place socks w/ the rubber grip bottoms. Now that he's been walking for nearly a year, he's fine in any socks, but they are good on our wood floors that can get slippery.

When we're home, he always goes barefoot or has socks with grips on them (we use Hanes toddler ankle socks).

At home, she's always barefoot, or in feety pj's.

During the day, whatever she would wear outside.

Once in PJ's, they are either feety or she has slippers or fleece lined fake Crocs from BRU. Our house is way too cold to have her in just socks or barefoot (I even feel it's probably a little chilly for her in feeties).

The grippy socks don't work for him. They are always coming off his feet. And when he realizes he is walking with socks on he takes them off and throws them at the dog and the dog loves to lick his toes. Chat Icon I only have him in pjs right before bed time and right after breakfast I change him for the day.

He had a pair of Robeez which he outgrew. I guess I might have to go back to those. Anyone know what is the largest size they make them in?

Re: Toodler foot gear while at home

During the summer ds went barefoot but since it's been cold, we put him in these slippers from babyGap

http://m.gap.com/product.html?dn=gp755622002&pdn=search

They are little bears with good soles on the bottom . I find that even in socks with the grips he has a tendency to slip and fall.

barefoot

Cold or not, she hates to have her shoes on once she gets home (like momma) but she won't put socks on and it drives me crazy. Still its not a battle I fight.

Seriously skip the Robeez, minitoes are a ton better in quality! and cheeper! and you can always e-mail the owner of the company she'll make you any size you want!

I was wondering if these were comfortable. My mom was going to buy him a pair a few weeks ago and I told her not to bother. Thanks for the suggestion. Chat Icon

Fall/winter, slippers from babygap

I'm not sure what to do for the summer...barefoot is ideal, but with hardwood floors and dogs that can shed, I was hoping to find some summer slippers

Re: Toodler foot gear while at home

My ped was adamant about no shoes or gripper socks (like skidderz or robeez) at that point of walking, so we let him either go barefoot or just socks with the rubber "tracks" on the bottom...when he took them off, I put them back on.
Supposedly it's better for them to walk on their feet, something about the development.
