Totally in tears and could use some words of wisdom...
I've been freelancing, working per diem for a while now. The stress is, you just don't know when it'll end or when you're next job will come. All was OK when it was just me and now, me & DH.
Well, having a child and the thought of me not having a job has been one heck of a rollercoaster ride. I'm basically freaking out over this.
Just found out that Friday will be my last day here, as they don't think there's enough of a work load to keep me.
Although my #1 concern is having a healthy child, my #1 concern is also raising her and having $$. I was hoping and praying it would've gotten me through May, but it's not going to.
Please remind me that something better will come along? I just can't seem to stop crying at this moment!!!

Try to calm down, this may be a blessing in disguise. I am sure you will find something later on. ( that's even better)
Try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy, the weather is improving- hope the sunshine lifts your spirits.

Re: Totally in tears and could use some words of wisdom...
I'm with you,,,I just started this job in Feb. as a temp to perm. ,,,,, and I was freaking because I wasn't sure if they would keep me once I started to show,,,but they did and you know that my boss is really GREAT, I started officially on 4/13/07,,,so I believe that she was my angel in disguise. There is something out there for you maybe this company wasn't right for you now, so give it time and don't stress to much it's bad for the baby,,, I believe in this saying "God may close a door, but he will leave a window open!" You just have to open your heart and not focus on the locked door but on the open window,,,keep your chin up! We sometimes tend to think things are worse than they really are.
If there is anything I can help you with let me know and I will be there!

Just keeping a positive attitude will help you, no matter what.
Something will come along, just wait and see. In the meantime maybe you can get a week or two off, and perhaps contact some employment firms just to put the feelers out.
Good luck! Please don't stress too much!

What industry are you in?
Exposure is your friend -- tell ANYONE and EVERYONE what you do - you never know who may be looking for someone!!
I hope you can have a few days to relax and then hopefully, something better will come along...!

Re: Totally in tears and could use some words of wisdom...
Thanks girls! I knew I turned to the right place.
I work in advertising.
I do have a project I've been working on though, so maybe I'll focus on that. Does anyone know anyone or is anyone here in publishing???
It is so much harder to believe it'll all be OK when it's happening to you. I guess it's time I listen to some of my own advice huh?

It will be fine You're in a bad spot right now because you're pregnant but that won't be forever and something better will come along. Don't stress over it too much - try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy

Oh honey, I totally know what you are going through. It is so scary to think that you are pregnant and not going to have income. You know I am literally right there with you.....
But....now that DS is born I KNOW that it will be ok. It sounds bizarre, but since he is here I am just in a better place.
If you want to talk, FM me. I promise it will get better.

I am just trying to focus on the positive right now. If anything, at least I'll have time to rest and walk and NAP before this little girl arrives. Kate- I know!!!! We're there in the same boat! Thanks darlin'!
I mean- If I had to use myself as an example, a year ago I totally wouldn't EVEN Think I'd be married and having a baby! God does work in mysterious ways..... but, it's so hard to believe!!!

Lots for you!!!
I want you to know I'm here for you- and though easier said than done, it will all work out. As others have posted, God works in mysterious ways, and all things happen for a reason!!
Try and relax and think of that baby girl!!!

Don't be sad. You have to remember that you'll never be given a situation you can't handle. Everything will be okay and you will land on your feet. Just hang in there and try to stay positive.

Re: Totally in tears and could use some words of wisdom...
This was me last week. My DH is a teacher and we found out his contract wasn't renewed. Half of me was relieved because he took the position mid-year and he has dealt with so much there, but most of me was hysterical because of your exact reasons. Add into that health coverage issues and that would put any preggo over the top. Thankfully I have a great job and make most of the money. However, like you said, I envisioned us as being "settled" when we got PG but now things are totally up in the air. I was planning on a 12 week leave but now I'm not sure if we can afford it. Our health coverage end on 6/30/07. I'm due 7/17/07. At that point I can pick up insurance at my company but still stressing about having to make all of the switches so close to our due date.
I'll tell you what I've been telling myself. Things we'll work out. They'll have to. For now I am trying my best not to stress out about it because as you said, our priority needs to be ensuring that we are taking care of ourselves and, in turn, our babies. Hugs to you. Hoping it works out.
