What kind of vaccuum do you have? EDITED with another question!
Right now, we have a hoover windtunnel upright. It's a pain b/c we have mostly wood floors and the hose doesn't extend very far. I'm debating a canister.
Can you tell me what kind you have and if you like it?
TIA!
Also, where did you get it?

Love the canister vacs. I have a Kenmore Progressive. Consumers rates it top notch. I have the white one. There are 4 different models.

we have a bissel convertible one... its an upright, but part of it comes off and can be used a canister... the canister is great for doing stairs or going to the basement.... and the upright is nice for doing the rest of the floors

We had the Hoover Windtunnel 2 - it was horrible and then it broke within 3 months of having it. And customer service - was a pain in the a$$!
We just spent the money and bought the Dyson Animal - LOVE IT!

We have all wood floors and went with a canister - the upright we had would just spit the dirt around as they are not made for wood floors.
It was a toss up between a Miele and a Simplicity...b/c we have some area rugs we went with the Simplicity b/c of the attachments. It was worth every penny - I love it! We purchased it at Sobel in Huntington Village.

The difference is amazing. I was ready to hit Sears and go with the best rated on Consumers but I'm glad we wound up at a local dealer - the difference in materials and construction between consumer rated and commercial rated vacuums are substantial. And the price difference is insignificant.

We got us a Miele TT Cat and Dog and its wonderful! It comes with lots and lots of attachment, 2 rug beaters (1 large and 1 small) and the little attachments, like the brush and the coney thing live right on board! They have a home right there! Wonderful!
