Question about XM/Sirius Satellite radio
If my DH has an XM radio in his car and I want to get him Sirius, does that mean I have to get him a whole new radio, have the old one uninstalled and install a new one?

Re: Question about XM/Sirius Satellite radio
Yup, they have different equipment.
Unless his XM came factory installed as part of the radio system, and then I believe you can just have the XM one deactivated and the Sirus one installed.

Yes - his was factory installed. So I don't need to buy a new radio?

Re: Question about XM/Sirius Satellite radio
I don't know for sure, but since our XM was installed after we got the car, I guess you can do the same with the Sirus one. I'm pretty sure you have to get a new one, they use different equipment. FM JennChris. Her DH installs them.
ETA: I just meant that I don't think you will have to have the factory installed XM removed since that's a part of your original radio. Does that make sense?

Re: Question about XM/Sirius Satellite radio
They are 2 different sets of hardware.
Whether you remove the factory/preinstalled one, is your choice - but you can't get Sirius on your XM reciever, and vice-versa.

Re: Question about XM/Sirius Satellite radio
Is it part of the stereo or is it one of the portable units that is connected to the stereo?
