question about taking temps
you are supposed to take your temp at the same time everyday, right? this summer i am only working 2-3 days a week so i will be getting up at differnt times eveyday. i have to be up by 6 on the days i work, but probably won't wake up until at least 8-9 if i'm not working. should i just take my temp when i wake up or should i set an alarm, take my temp at 6 and then go back to sleep? also, i usually snooze my alarm a few times, is it okay to take my temp after i finally get up?

Re: question about taking temps
I take my temp when I wake up naturally OR when the alarm goes off the first time. I feel like if I keep snoozing it my temp will rise b/c I'm really not fully sleeping... Yesterday I took it at 6.30 This morning I woke up at 4.30 and I had to pee- but because I wouldn't have a full 3 hours of sleep left, I took it before I got up.

Re: question about taking temps
You are supposed to take the temp at the same time everyday... otherwise, your pattern will be thrown off and inaccurate. So I would suggest waking up even if you don't have to, and then going back to sleep (I try to do that every weekend).
Snoozing will also affect the temperature, i believe ONLY if the snoozing isn't withing 30mins (before & after) waking time.

Re: question about taking temps
Yes, take your temp the same time every day. What I do on my days off is set the alarm, take my temp, write it on a piece of paper on my night table and go back to sleep.
Its the only way to chart accurately

Re: question about taking temps
but if you wake up early and you have to go to the bathroom- shouldn't you take your temp b/c you are supposed to have at least 3 hours of restful sleep? If you only have an hour left ... wouldn't the act of getting up screw it up too?

I wake up @ 7, and if I wake up to use the bathroom, I'll only get up if it's earlier than 4am. If its 5am, and I have to go, and go back to sleep, and pee like a racehorse @ 7am...

Maybe no more fluids after 9! Oh yea, definitely! I don't drink after 9pm-ish, and I 'unload' right before I turn in.
