is anyone a travel agent?
maybe this is a really stupid question..but how do you become a travel agent? do u just apply and get trained? do u go to a school or something? any info someone can give me would be fabulous! ty

I work in a travel agency and the agents I work with have gone to school and been doing this for years.
I started out as an admin and told my boss I wanted to learn the travel part. I was slowly moved to customer service. I went to training to do travel bookings. I did about a month of training on apollo, sat with the agents and started doing quotes before actually doing full bookings.
I am doing full bookings now but only for domestic air, car, and hotel.

you CAN go to school for it, althought i don't think it is required..the college i went to had a special program for it
