30 year old birthday party gift
I just got an invitation to a friend's 30th birthday party. The invitation says "your presence is the only gift desired". I still feel like I should bring something though. What does everybody think? Also, what do you give for this type of occasion?

Re: 30 year old birthday party gift
I just threw my husband a surprise 30th - he got lots of gift cards to home depot and some gift certificates to a couple of our favorite restaurants - maybe that is an idea...

Re: 30 year old birthday party gift
I would feel funny not bringing anything. A gift card to a restaurant sounds like a good idea or, if you want to do something on a smaller scale, how about a pix frame with the number 30 on it?

We just went to one for a friend and everone gave gift cards which was perfect because no one knew who spent more or less or anything other than a card for that matter

i agrees, this way in case no one else brought a gift you won't feel funny walking in with a big box. A gift card is always a great idea.

Re: 30 year old birthday party gift
I think I'm going to bring a bottle of champagne and an AmEx gift check.
Can somebody recommend a nice champagne that isn't horribly expensive?

Cordon Negro is my favorite. Also, Cooks is inexpensive.
