just supplies, like new cabinets, floor, stove, dishwasher?
My dad knows how to do the work so we wouldn't have to pay for labor..

Re: how much do you think it would cost to redo a kitchen?
we just did ours by ourselves also: cabinets: $5K (home depot) Tile floor + Labor: $1K Granite countertop + installation: $3K All new appliances: about $1700 from Sears I think the stove was about $500 and dishwasher $350. We got them all on sale (kenmore).
We were way above with our "estimate" of how much it would cost to fix up the house... so we splurged a little on the kitchen. You could do it cheaper than this... we got a glas insert in the corner cabinet, and the special drawers that pull out, etc. Plus we went with granite when there are cheaper countertops out there.

We did ours last year - materials alone were about $17K - for a small kitchen with Silestone countertops (included are new windows and doors and a skylight).

I don't know how we got away with it, but we spent about $5k on our kitchen... Ikea cabinets that we installed ourselves ($2k), Ikea block wood countertops ($400), home depot tiling/backsplash which we installed ourselves ($600), and the appliances came to about $1500. We bought our convection oven as a floor model at Circuit City for $500 marked down from like $1200! Image Attachment(s):
