What did you guys think of the letter that came with the leaf bags? From now on no more delivery of leaf bags, you have to go down to the town with a copy of your tax bill to pick up bags. It's just funny to me. Other towns you can just put your leaves out by the curb, no bags or anything, and they'll come pick them up. Smithtown won't do that, and now they won't give you bags either unless you come pick them up!

I honestly never knew that towns picked up non-bagged leaves or gave you bags. Wow. That seems generous to me! Chat Icon

I always wondered why people would just put all their leaves at the curb. I thought they were lazy and hoping they'd blow away in front of someone else's house. Chat Icon

Do you have to use their bags? Can you just use black trash bags or the clear trash bags?

Hmmmm, they are still lying on my driveway Chat Icon

I guess I should open it up and read it.

Luckily, the miser we bought the house from has left us about 900 bags he collected from the town over 40 years.

Re: Town of Smithtown residents

gotta love this great township. We live right behind the armory in Nesconset and stilll after 15 yrs, nothing has been done. The same goes for the King Park Pysch Center, nothing done and that land is sitting there rotting away. Oh but the bigger problem is the waste of leaf bags??? Give me a break. For the taxes they charge, they have a lot of nerve.

I didn't think it was generous since we pay for it in our taxes! Chat Icon I guess we could use regular bags, not sure! I just thought it was funny that we pay such high taxes and they keep cutting all this stuff. oh well!
