Townhouse type condos / Garden Apartments

You know, basically where it's a house attached to another, instead of an apartment in a building.

Does anyone know of any complexes like that in the Forest Hills/Kew Gardens area? And are they okay or are they nasty?

Thanks!

Re: Townhouse type condos / Garden Apartments

Just IMO, but I'd stick with the apt. building type places in those areas. That's what the abundance of homes are. The only one I can think of is in FH, west of FH high school. The complex looks kinda run-down.

ETA: Now that I think again, there are some attached houses in FH around 75th Ave, just south of QB that are cute. I think they're considered houses, not condos, though, and they're probably 75+ years old. They remind me of England somewhat Chat Icon

ETA again: This one's a far walk from the train, but is like the ones I was thinking of above. FH like UK

If you have Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon to spend, check out the condos in the Manhasset/Lake Success area.

I remember some in FH Gardens. They're on 71st Ave I think? Just past the Forest Hills Inn.

Thanks for that - although definitely not in the market to spend $800K! Chat Icon

Came across this listing Meadow Apartments and although I can see that they're a bit run down, I was wondering how common something like this was in the area. But, then I was a bit worried about the resale value of something like that. I just don't want to be in a tower! (although all of this is just a dream at the moment!)

Those types of co-ops are uncommon and that particular one is in a part of FH that I, personally, don't like. Generally, the closer you are to 71st Ave and QB, the better the area for co-ops in FH.

Many of the co-op buildings in FH aren't huge towers, but are around 6-10 stories. Not so bad, really.Chat Icon

Re: Townhouse type condos / Garden Apartments

I agree with the above posters that those are not common for the area and that there are a lot of co-op buildings in Forest Hills that are 6-10 stories.

I also would not want to live that far north of Queens Blvd. I live in the NW section of Forest Hills (near Rego Park) but a block away from Queens Blvd. I do like my section. Being a little further away from 71st/Continental, it's quieter and easier to park! Though sometimes I wish I was a little closer to Austin Street. It's all a matter of preference.

And I did want to add that I live in one of the towers Chat Icon , but our complex has a pool and a park, which are really nice features.

Feel free to FM me with any specific questions about Forest Hills!
