Toys/activity help for Toddlers

Ok, sorta spin off from my other post. I laid in bed nauseous most of today and Noah was amazing Chat Icon but I wish I had some toys he could have kinda played with me.

Any suggestions for Crafts or toys like this?

He really doesnt like coloring, he eats the crayons, doesnt ever seem to "Color" with them.

He does like stickers.

Any good Activity books or good Books period..he is a big Book lover..

All ideas welcome and THANKS!!

Re: Toys/activity help for Toddlers

How about the lacing cards? I just bought some the other day and Emma doesn't quite "get it" yet, but she likes to try.

Post It's...sounds weird but they stick and re-stick and they make all kinds of shapes/designs of them now. Emma was busy for an hour with them!

Magnetic letters on a cookie sheet, portable and cheap!

DS loves shape sorters. He has that one (pic) and one that looks like a workbench in wood with a little hammer to push the shapes in. Luckily DS does not like "banging" so he just pushes with his hands the shape through.

We also do Clippos. I put a bunch of them together and DS.... aka "Mr Deconstructor" will take them apart.

We also do bubbles. DS is fascinated with bubbles. Yes, I do them "inside" the house.Chat Icon Wlalmart had to huge bottles for $4.

Of course, DS loves his books.

I also got this on sale from Vtech (art easel). DS loves it. We can do "sounds", there are lights, music, etc...

What about an aquadoodle? Sophie loves her and they make no mess. Or one of those boards that you can draw on with their pen, then erase. I forgot what they are called.

How about puzzles? DS loves puzzles and it seems to occupy for a little bit longer than other toys/activities.

messy ideas:
finger paint (with paint or pudding)
shaving cream (i stick him in the shower with shaving cream and toys and josh could do this forever!)
bean table (beans and cups and small toys in a bin)
collages (glue anything on paper)
playdough

non messy:
doodlepro
flashcards
finger plays, bean bag songs, and music (songs with hand movements, make sock puppets, bang on pots and pans, instruments)
the busy ball popper can still entertain josh independently for a while)
balloon catch & throw

Re: Toys/activity help for Toddlers

Things DS is into now:

Hide and Seek books. They make big ones that's kinda like where's Waldo.

Books with liftable flaps and he can guess what's underneath.

Puzzles.

Play-Doh.

Stickers--you can get books at the dollar store adn I saw packs of a couple hundred at Party City.

Lego Duplo's.

Muscial instruments. He'll sit and shake maracas or bells with me for an hour while we sing stuff the like Wheels on the Bus.

Aquadoodle.

Mtchbox cars and planes. This will entertain him for awhile while he drives them on immaginary roads or through little obstacle courses we create. Then we pretend we're mountains and drive the cars over each other.

DS may be younger, but he loves:

puzzles
toys with wheels or spinning parts
plastic containers with lids (he loves putting them on and off)
basket of board books (he'll pull them out and look at them)
books with photos of everyday objects. He points at them and I tell him what they are called.

I got a few books the other day at Michaels that are great -- they are magnets and DS loves them. (he looooves sticker books but goes through them so quick, these last)

I got Tonka trucks and Thomas the Train. I think they had a few others.
