Toys for 6-12 month olds (Rants and Raves)
I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread with our recs for great toys for 6-12 month olds. Alot of toys say from 6month+ but when you take the toy home it turns out its better for older kids. There are so many things out there I am usually at a loss.
My DD is 7 Months- I'll start with my experiences:
Fisher Price Little Superstar Stage: This has got to be one of DD's fav toys since she could sit up assisted. It has a mirror music, lights and singing. Absolutely loooove this toy!
Leapfrog Maracas: I would not buy these again. At this stage they are too heavy and I get worried that she is going to wack herself on the head with them.
Leapfrog Drum: Another toy I would skip at least for now. I think it will be more fun when she is 12 months that now.

Leapfrog Piano: My DD definitely enjoys this because it is much more interactive and easier to play with than the other two Leapfrog toys that may be better for older kids. It has a mirror and lights up when you hit the keys. Definitely recommend.
Leapfrog Spin and Sing Alphabet Zoo: My DD likes this toy on the animal settings. Again its a toy that will be beneficial to her when she is older but for now it can entertain her when you spin it.
Leapfrog Learn and Groove Musical Table: My DD loves playing with this although it can be a little awkward when they can't stand. There is the option to not put the legs on it and then your DD can play with it on the floor. My DD would then try to lunge for the other side of the table by trying to reach across and then end up tipping over on the table, so although I definitely think this is a great toy for kids that can sit on their own I think its an even better toy if they can cruise.

Playskool Ball Popper: OMG shoot me now. LOL This toy is fun for my DD to watch but I hate it! The balls fly ALL over the place so I have to crawl everywhere trying to get all the balls. My DD enjoys it though so we keep playing with it, but it can get really annoying.

FisherPrice Laugh and Learn Home: Love this toy. I think this is a toy that will definitely grow with her and will become more fun when she starts crawling. It's large but narrow so you can put it against a wall if space is an issue. I would recommend and find its an great toy to play with your DC.

I agree that the singing stage is great and DD loves her learning table! I just got the FP laugh and learn kitchen today but haven't set it up yet! I'm so excited for it. I hope DD likes it!

DD has this and LOVES it!! It says it is for 18 months and up but she got it around 9 months and uses it all the time. She is in a Music Together-type class so she uses similar things in class often. I also love it because it is easy to travel with and I can throw a few other toys in the drum and we are good to go!

Re: Toys for 6-12 month olds (Rants and Raves)
Let's see we have: DS is 8 months old
Fisher Price Little Superstar Stage. We got it when ds was 6 months old. He liked it, but not as much as i thought he would.
Fisher-Price Fun with Friends Laugh & Learn Musical Table. Ds really likes this because he loves to stand and even though he can't do it on his own yet, he loves going from each station. You can put it on the ground for them, but he'd rather try to stand.
Fisher-Price - Pop Up Farm ds loves this. He loves to close them over and over again.
Fisher-Price Baby's First Blocks ds LOVES these. He likes to bang them, tip the container over and spill them out. He also is hard core teething and likes to chew on them. This is one of his favorites lately.
Ds has a bit more, but none that he plays with as much as these.

the stage mirror is a favorite and the learning tables are all great - but this is DD's absolute favorite - we have to hide it from her, or she'll want to be pushed around all day long!
