this is the first year we'll be putting the train under the tree. it's the polar express and we got it in barnes and noble on clearance this past january.

Train under Christmas Tree
My grandparents have an antique train that they use around the Christmas Tree and I have asked to get that once they no longer put up decorations. I don't want a brand new one, I love the antique ones.

I have a santa fe set we will be using this year. I actually found it in a thrift store for about $10

We have an older Lionel set that my FIL gave my DCs a few years ago. It was given to my FIL by an older family friend who did not have grandsons and he wanted it to go to a family who would enjoy it.
My DH and DCs love it but I'm not a big fan of it. I feel it's too valuable and precious to keep it out around the 20mo and the dog still likes to drink the tree's water so I'm always worried someone will ruin it.
