Training for ABA Therapists.... I want to become one!
How did you go about getting your certificate? I would like to attend a workshop but is there anyway I could attend the course at a college and receive credits to? Would anyone recommend a program or workshop they went to?

As for getting a "certificate" a lot of agencies do their own trainings. However, there are college level courses in applied behavior analysis that you can learn it in. I started doing my BCBA (board certification in behavior analysis) at University of North Texas distance learning program. I never finished it, but the classes I took were great. If you want to look for college level classes, here is the BACB site which lists all the colleges. Keep in mind some, you can do online.

A lot of schools offer the BCBA now, Hunter, Queens College, Hofstra and Penn State online does as well.

becoming a bcba includes both the classes and supervision hours along with taking a test. If u just want some classes in ABA, these are the places that offer it. You don't need to get a bcba to take these classes

if you want a basic introduction to aba therapy, you can check out www.elija.org. they offer training series for new teachers.
