Trampolines - homewoners insurance
has anyone had any problems with their homeowners insurance if you have a trampoline in the backyard? i am looking into getting my dd one for her birthday, but i just don't know if it can cause an issue with my homeowners. obviously it would have the safety enclosure, which at this point may be manadatory, i'm not sure.

Depends on the carrier. Some just charge you more (how much more depends as well) Others will give you notice then drop you. Some will do yearly inspections pre-renewal and drop you for material misrepresentation
Personally, I’d call and ask.

Re: Trampolines - homewoners insurance
Trampolines are seen as a major hazard. Some insurance carrier will make you take it down if they find out you have one. You will have to sign a statement saying you took it down and will not put it back up.
A lot of people do not notify the carrier if they have one, but if a new policy is written , we always ask if you have a trampoline.

haha but I'm in insurance so... No pool, no trampoline.

Re: Trampolines - homewoners insurance
Thanks everyone! I called my INS company and as long as my yard is fenced in and the trampoline has a safety enclosure it is fine.

I am very afraid of trampolines. One of DH's friends from med school is now paralyzed due to a trampoline accident.
I personally would not let my kids on one. We have a bouncy house.
I know our insurance specifically asked about trampolines.
