Transferring 8mm reels to dvd

does anyone know someone/where that does this?

We found a bunch of reels that Dh's dad gave him and I would love to have them tranferred...

Cost?

I have a friend I will email and ask - he would know who could do it for you. I know he had it done years ago

One soultion is to buy a DVD recorder with built in vcr...or buy a dvd recorder and you can use your vcr to playback the tapes as the DVD Recorder is recording it. Depending on how many tapes you are talking about, your talk alot of money cuase it takes time.

One soultion is to buy a DVD recorder with built in vcr...or buy a dvd recorder and you can use your vcr to playback the tapes as the DVD Recorder is recording it. Depending on how many tapes you are talking about, your talk alot of money cuase it takes time.



Its not vcr tapes, its 8mm reels as stated in the title

I have done this recording stuff (its part of my job) to computer to edit, then make a nice chaptered DVD...

There's a place in Hicksville on Broadway called Reel to Reel that does it...they did some stuff for me and they did a really nice job.

FIL did that for MIL for Christmas. It was so nice. He had a place in CT do it and they did a nice job, even added music.

My dad just did this last year and gave the DVD's to my sister and I for Christmas. He was really hesitant to send his films to someone, because if they screwed up, then they would be gone forever. But he did tons of research and went with film-to-DVD.com And they really came out great! He also got all of his 8mm films back too!
