Transitioning to Milk?

Since I started mixing milk and formula together, Alex's poop has been very loose. Is this normal? Could he be allergic? No signs of rash or vomitting.

I don't remember this happening with Cassidy. How much milk/formula are you mixing?

My Dr said 2oz of each so that is what I have been doing.

Re: Transitioning to Milk?

Sarah has this problem. The doctor said it's not really an allergy, but that their digestive systems take longer to adjust to the increased dairy than other kids. We started out with 2oz of milk and 4 oz of formula and then when her poop gets more normal (about a week) I up the milk by 1 oz. We're up to 5 oz of milk starting today, so hopefully by the time she hits 14 months she'll be off formula.

I've also been slow to introduce a lot of new foods during this transition since she has the milk problem already. She's still eating a lot of baby food rather than table food, but I don't want to totally shock her system.
