Actually the governor specifically mentioned fines and points on your license. Who know how serious they sre about that but hopefully people won't test it.

On News12 there were people out at Stew Leonards before as they couldn't find what they needed yesterday. When did they think a new delivery was coming in and they never said what they wanted but the passenger was eating an ice cream. What couldn't wait one day?

Yes, exactly. I am one of those essential people who used to always have to go to work in these storms. I would also see first hand the people who just got bored at home and decided to come out for no good reason. I know for a fact that there are people who do this.
I just saw one example on the news, they were asking people in cars why they were out during the travel ban and one said "To get coffee". Listen, I love my coffee too but give me a break.

I just watched two young guys get stuck in the middle of the street because they were bored and thought it would be cool to drive up and down the block. They couldn't move their car so they just abandoned it. Idiots.

Yes they can. Cops HAVE to go in. Firefighters, EMS, etc.
The ban does not apply to essential employees like first responders. What would happen if they weren't allowed to go to work?

My parents are in Selden- we are 2 miles from them in port Jeff sta. It's BAD. My mom is one of the people needing to be out today- she's an RN and my dad drove her into work. Unfortunately my dad can't go pick my mom up now as their street has yet to see a plow :-/ security offered to drive her home and she would have to walk up the street. I HATE when she has to work in this weather! Stay safe everyone!

They sbdolutly can. My mother is a nurse and she has to go to work (and did).
