Travel Credit Card
DH and I want to get a new credit card that allows points towards travel.
Does anyone have any recommendations of ones they have and used?

Re: Travel Credit Card
We have an Amex Starwood Rewards card. DH's friend supposedly knows credit cards in and out, and knows which ones are the best for travel, etc....he told us the Starwood Rewards is the best. We have close friends that went to Hawaii for a week and stayed free (including airfare) from their points. DH just told me last night that we are halfway to getting a free trip somewhere.
HTH!

Re: Travel Credit Card
I just got the Capital one no hassle mile one. I didn't want to get any of the other ones since they charge a yearly fee.

Re: Travel Credit Card
That's what I'm trying to avoid. Paying a fee. We got the Carnival Seamiles one. There is no fee.
I never had a rewards credit card, and I just wasn't sure if you actually get rewards or if its a big joke.

Re: Travel Credit Card
I used Amex- and I pay a fee for it $90 - I think b/c it's gold
I want to upgrade to platium- b/c the travel perks are INSANE- but I am too cheap to pay the fee $500 - a year I think
you get 1 free 1st class ticket- when you by one- that alone is worth the fee-
I also have an American Airlines Debit card from Citibank- I get 1 mile for every dollar I spend

I can't bring myself to do it- I also can't fly coach with DH- he is so annoying- between his neck ( the pressure kills him) and they fact that he is HUGE- and doesn't fit in the seat- it makes coach unbearable
so in the next year- I might have to upgrade

Re: Travel Credit Card
I would recommend an AMEX card as well. They were a client of mine- and I got TWO AMEX cards as a result of learning about all of the travel benefit.
Get a card that allows you to enroll in Membership Rewards. These points can be redeemed a variety of ways for travel, the easiest being online at americanexpress.com/travel.
You can apply points towards any purchase-- whether it be a flight, hotel or a vacation package.
I think this is more flexible that redeeming miles with an airline, which I have done many times, or other points.
Also, AMEX has a BLUE card which is very travel focused.
I have an AMEX Platinum and you get a broad range of additional travel benefits, like getting into Club rooms on certain airlines, special upgrades and other things. But the annual fee is hefty.
