Travel Insurance Question
We are going to Turks & Caicos in May and we got the travel insurance. Since I just had some major surgery I also opted for the additional pre-existing conditions insurance ($9) more just to cover myself.
Has anyone ever had to use the travel insurance? Is it a PIA? Does it really pay? Of course in theory it does, but in actuality I'm concerned.
I'm not anticipating a problem, but you never know.

I used our travel insurance when we had to cancel our trip. Was not difficult at all!

When I worked in booking I had a few people that had to use their insurance. And their was never any problems.
I had one couple that had to cancel their Disney cruise 3 days before sailing because of an illness and I felt so bad for them. But in less then a week they had everyhing returned to them. I had them fax me the forms so I could look everything over and provide the paperwork the agency had that they needed, then they filled out the rest and sent it in to the insurance company.
Less then a week later I get a confirmation fax from the insurace company and a phone call from the client that everything has been received.
Who did you use for insurance??

I'm not sure. I'm going through Liberty Travel so whatever they use. I can go look at my paperwork to see.
Thanks for the info. I have never had to use it but since it's so soon after major surgery I wanted to ask.
