Travel question involving a toddler and stroller I need help
We are leaving for the carribean after Christmas we have never traveled with Ds yet he is 18 months. When do I check the stroller? I don't want to have to carry this tank all around the airport! Also do I have to bring a packnplay? Or do you think There will be one available we are staying at a family friendly resort. Also we didn't pay for a seat for him so he will be on our laps. There is so much I feel like I'm going to forget!! Any BTDT moms out there with some insight I am at a loss also how many swimmer diapers do I bring for 4 nights 5 days!?

You check the stroller as you get on to the plane.
Do you call the resort to see if they have a pack and play? They can be limited, so I would definitely call.
The best piece of advice we got was don't let DS touch the floor of the plane. If he realizes, he can walk, he'll want to.
I brought 10 swimming diapers when we went to Vegas. We didn't swim every day, we swam 3 times.

You can check your stroller right at the gate, they take it from you when you are boarding and you get it right as you de-plane.
I would probably buy a re-usable cloth swim diaper so that I have disposables and a cloth in case I run out. I would bring about 2 swim diapers for each day I am there.
I also would call and reserve a crib or pnp so that there is no confusion when I get there and I am guaranteed one.

Do you have a lightweight stroller?
I liked having the stroller at the airport. We put all our stuff on top of it.
You just gate check when you get on the plane and it is waiting for you when you get off the plane. Super easy!

Personally I would not leave the country without a passport for my child.
If I remember correctly, no one asked to see DS's passport when we went to the caribbean earlier this year. We still had one with us though.

I think he does (unless you're going to an American territory: Puerto Rico...).
If you're traveling by land or sea, he can use a birth certificate, but flights require passports...
from the U.S Dept of State: passport requirements

I think you do...I had one for my 23 month old when we went to Aruba last week! even though he didnt have a seat for him! I would call the airline and see if the birth certificate is enough
stroller: DEF gate check it...use it to stroll your stuff to the gate if anything....but it gets less handling if you do it that way as opposed to checking it at the check in!
I usually bring 3-4 swim diapers per day. Depending on if you will be doing more pool or ocean...pool requires it who cares in ocean...lolol!
I like the PPer tip: dont let their feet touch the ground..then they'll want to walk around.
Bring a DVD player with fav movies or shows..small little quiet toys they can play with on your lap ...lots and lots of snacks and sippy/bottles...food keeps them ueit beter tahn any toy...I bought animal crackers, gold fish, gummies, pretzels, cheese sticks, lollipop..dont give often but it was just in case type treat...one you know they will stay put for..bring milk, juice or water...and the flight attendants will gladly refill if needed
good luck

If you need a passport, it is probably too late to get one...It usually takes 6 weeks to get it. I don't know if they can expedite one...
