Travel System Stroller or Not???
So I have been tossing around the idea of NOT getting the travel system due to many factors--AND because I dont really like any of the patterns that are out there. So my alternative is doing a stroller and carseat separate and then getting the snap and go for the infant months while they are still in the carseat. What did you girls do?? Am I just being silly and too picky?? Please help and show me what you picked for your strollers! Thanks!!!

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
I got the travel system stroller - the Graco Quattro Tour in Metropolitan and the matching car seat. I happened to like the pattern (gender neutral since we didn't know what we were having) and the colors went well with my car (added bonus!).
I can say however that I have only used the stroller with the carseat once or twice (DD is 5 1/2 months) and I use the snap and go for daily activities. I definitely think that it would not be a problem for you to get a non-matching car seat and stroller.

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
We registered for the bumbleride and a graco snugride carseat. The bumble has a universal adapter to accommodate infant car seats. I also loved the Peg Pliko P3 Stroller and the Primo Viaggio SIP Infant Car Seat.

So, even though your car seat goes in the stroller, you mostly use the Snap & Go?? Is it harder to use the stroller with the carseat? Hmmmm....You have me thinking more. I know, I am probably way overthinking this whole thing, but I would hate to get something and then regret it or not want to use it, you know???

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
We registered for the Travel System that comes with the Snugride.... and my sister has a brand new snap and go frame that fits the snugride, so that's all we're doing.

From the advice of friends. I think I'll register for the universal carrier and a separate stroller. They all said the system is TOOO heavy to use.

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
Spinoff Question--It seems many of you who have gotten the travel system do not plan on using the carseat in the stroller it comes with so why did you pick the travel system versus just getting a separate stroller and carseat/snap&go??

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
I'm planning on using the stroller system that the carseat fits into. It's more rugged/durable for long walks on the road, etc. If I go shopping, that's where I'll pull out the snap and go.
And I didn't find the travel system to be too bulky or heavy.

I wish I would have listened. I got the Graco Quattro Tour in Metropolitan. I used the carrier with the SNG and gave the stroller to Grandma because it was too bulky and heavy to work with. I wound up getting the PP Pliko instead.

We got a travel system. I happen to love them, we loved how convenient it was with DD, and I found a few patterns I liked.

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
I have a travel system-The graco quattro tour. I used the stroller frame in the beginning since the stroller with the carseat was too cumbersome for me for errands.
I use the stroller from the travel system all the time. It's my walking stroller since it can hold alot and is better on uneven pavement than my P3. My Graco also reclines fully flat whereas my P3 doesn't, so i couldn't use the PEg until dd was at least 6 months old-she wasn't comfy in it.
I love all my strollers, but if i had to do it over, i still would a stroller frame a full size stroller and a lightweight umbrella.

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
After much thought and many discussions with other parents in the city we opted for the Graco snugride carseat and snap-n-go for the first few months. That way we can see what our stroller needs are truly going to be before dropping $$$.

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
I was thinking I would get the metrolite stroller by Graco and then just a matching carseat which I could use with the snap&go. But, is that too much to put on my registry? I feel like with all the things separate, it is more expensive than just the travel system alone. OYE! Much harder than wedding registering!!!

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
I have the Chicco Travel System and would rec it to anyone.
I don't really like the look of the snap and go.
The travel system I have is very light and easy to use.

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
I didn't bother with a travel system mainly b/c I do not like/use the infant carrier seats. If this solution works for you, then you should do it and not worry what others think!

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
I love my graco metrolite. It really has been great and light.
But in the end - get what you like. You are the one who is going to be using it and having to deal with it.

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
i have the graco family tree travel system (target) and love it.
DD is 7 mths and we still put her right into the stroller with the infant sleep when she is napping.
The stroller is really light and very durable. I wasn't crazy about the snap and go.

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
We got the Graco Metrolite travel system which I love. I still use that stroller if I have only one of them with me.
I while Sarah was still in the infant carrier I would leave the metrolite in our garage to use for neighborhood walks and leave the snap n go in the trunk for shopping. It just took up less room in the trunk. But we didn't put it on the registry, we bought it with a BRU gc on our own.

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
We registered for the Graco Quattro Tour in Windsor with the matching car seat, not labeled a travel system but in principle it is. Love it! Never thought it was too heavy but since it's the only one I have I don't know any better I guess. So easy to fold and unfold and plenty of storage. never used a snap and go. And now I use the stroller w/o the seat.

Re: Travel System Stroller or Not???
I have been thinking about this a lot lately. I think I am going to go w/ the snap and go and a good lightweight stroller.
