Traveling in Fall
I am trying to plan something for a trip in beginning of October. I was thinking of St. Maarten but I really like the Ritz in San Juan because of the casino/restaurant options. However I am nervous about traveling in the fall with it being hurricane season.
Has anyone taken the gamble with going to the carribbean during October? And which of the two islands would you consider lesser of the two evils weather wise??
Insights??? Thanks to all of you who helped with st. Maarten.

We always travel in October...for our anniversary...and we have been to Arurba and the West coast of Mexico.
Aruba is not in the hurricane belt so that is a good place to go.

I know Aruba is not in the hurricane belt but I was nervous about St. Maarten and Puerto Rico being too risky.

I wouldn't not travel b/c of hurricane season. that would wipe out May through November.
