Traveling while newly pregnant?
Hi, I'm not pregnant just yet, but will be flying on a 3 hour flight in the next 2 months. Is that harmful in any way if I was to get pregnant from now until then? Thanks!

No its not harmful, well that is what my doctor told me. You will be fine. But if you are concerned, ask your doctor.

Re: Traveling while newly pregnant?
I am curious about the answer to this as well ..
I have no reason to think that you could not travel in the early stages of pregnancy, but DH and I planned a trip out West in September (before I found out I was PG) and now I've been debating whether or not we should go ahead with these plans or not By the time of our trip, I will be around the 10-11 week mark
I haven't had my first OB visit yet but I plan on asking when I finally go
I think my main concern is not flying per se, but just that I am so nauseous all the time and I do not want to put a damper on my trip or ruin it for DH

Re: Traveling while newly pregnant?
I flew a week or two after I got pg, I also flew at 17-18 weeks.

Re: Traveling while newly pregnant?
My Dr told me I could travel right near the very end. She said certain airlines have rules against flying in certain weeks of pregnancy. But flying early is fine, I did. I flew to Florida when I was 12 weeks.

Re: Traveling while newly pregnant?
I really think it's only the very late stages of pregnancy that you should not travel or if you may be a high risk pregnancy.

Re: Traveling while newly pregnant?
I was 13 weeks when DH and i went to Aruba for our 1yr anniversary. Doc said there was no problem just to get up every 1/2 hr or so on the plane and walk around and to drinks lots of water.

Re: Traveling while newly pregnant?
it's ok to travel up until around 34-36 weeks.
I travelled at 9-10 weeks my first PG and was fine
I am 19 weeks and I'm flying tomorrow!

Re: Traveling while newly pregnant?
DH and I went to alaska when I was 6-7 weeks (we had planned it LONG ago) and we had to take a 1 1/2 hr flight and then a 4 hr. flight. I was SO sick and tired! Morning sickness kicked in full gear on the trip.
