Traveling with baby

Corrinne reminded me that I wanted to post a question about travel.

How old should a baby be before you travel? Could I do a small trip within the first 3 and a half months? To visit DH's family in TX.

Sure, I don't see why not. If you have a "good" baby he/she will probably sleep the whole time.
I personally had a colicky baby and wouldn't have gone anywhere near an airplane let alone the grocery store

We took Nate to NY when he was 3 months. He was great on the plane. I planned our flight around his naps.

Dr No went on his first trans atlantic flight when he was 4 months! And he was fabby!!!

Hi everyone, my name is maria and I am due on December 21st! Not sure what I am having but I am tempted to find out next time I go for a visit....Anyhow....this one is for steph4777(or anyone that can give some advice on the topic), you said that you planned your flight around your baby's naps.....please tell me how!!??!! was your baby awake before the flight took off and then fell asleep once in the air?

Also, if anyone can help I'd apprecaite it! I am not due until December but I will definately be going to Europe in June with DH and baby to visit inlaws and family - I have no clue what to expect or what to bring - I am already freaking out about it and Baby is not even here yet!

Any advice would be helpful and GREATLY apprecaited! TIA!
