Travelling and Kids

DH and I LOVE to travel!!! We particularly love to travel abroad and have been known to leave on a whim and travel to some very interesting destinations!!!

However, our traveling plans are not conducive to small children and I know we really are going to miss just picking up and going to Europe on a whim

Does anyone else feel this way or worry about missing traveling when they have small children?

Ultimately, we want to travel with our children. We plan on taking them along on our crazy journeys! However, I don't picture myself taking a toddler on a long flight, plus it's quite $$$. I also want them to be old enough to appreciate the culture, etc. The thought of not doing much traveling for some years really makes me sad

Anyone else feel this way?

Yes, ITA. DH and I cancelled a cruise to Europe this year after DS was born.... We travel a lot, as well, and plan on bringing DS everywhere we go - but, yes, we'll wait until he's older to bring him to "exotic" places like Europe!

I admit, I'm a little (well, a lot, really) bummed that certain trips like Europe and Hawaii must wait a few years....but it'll be worth it later on. For now it'll be Disney and other local US trips.
