Trendier nail polish colors and business meetings- yay or nay?
I did my nails yesterday with a color from Ulta called Moody Blues- it's pretty much a dark navy.
In the outside light it looks navy blue but if it's slightly darker it can almost pass for black- my DH actually thought it was black when he saw it at home last night.
Anyway- do you think dark blue nail polish is appropriate for a client meeting?
I never really wear anything other than reds, deep pinks, wine colors, etc...I never wore blue or green or yellow- none of the trendier colors.
I guess I am feeling a bit self conscious about it in terms of -is dark blue nail polish unprofessional looking or too trendy to meet with a client?
Again it almost looks black and could be mistaken for black- maybe that is my concern.
Should I change the color before Thursday's meeting?
What do you think?

Depends on your industry. I'm in banking, in IT and I would go with neutral. I use the trendier colors on my toes.

I personally don't think anything of it. I notice women's nail polish but think they're pretty cool when they wear a trendy color, like a way to express themselves but still dress completely professionally.... but that's my opinion, based on my position in my firm (I manage and I would be the person to tell someone if something was inappropriate). I guess you have to know your clients/management. I would be fine with it at my firm but I am sure there are pretty conservative firms that might have issue with it.

although I did have the Yankee interlocking NY on my ring fingers this week.
But I don't attend meetings for the most part. They keep me hidden!

I work for an IT company (we are very business casual around the office) and the customer we would be going to see actually is Madison Square Garden... I am thinking they aren't too stuffy there...
I might leave it....

leave it. i'm a lawyer and will regularly wear all sorts of colors to court - dark red, dark purple, dark blue, neon pink, light blue, etc. no one thinks differently about me because of it.

I wouldn't worry about it -- the staff I know at MSG aren't stuffy, as you said. I've done several events there and the corporate people aren't terribly corporate.

I work for a fairly conservative law firm and I see no problem. I would do a dark navy before I'd do a bright, neon pink or something like that.

I work in a fairly conservative financial consulting firm and I wear all types of colors on my nails, I think its fine.

I think especially since you work for a business casual office you're fine. Add to that you're going to a less than stuffy client, you're more than ok to stick with it.

I work in a really stuffy law firm and I wear all kinds of nail polish. Not a big deal at all.

I work in the wedding industry, so I can get away with funky colors but I tend to prefer neutrals.
