Trendy Maternity fashions or Plus sized fashions
Do you think maternity fashions should mimic the trends or be somewhat traditional and simple?
How about Plus sized fashions?
Are some things better left for the thin girls or is all fashion fair game?

Re: Trendy Maternity fashions or Plus sized fashions
I don't think size of the clothing matters for the most part as long as the garment is fitted properly.
But I don't like to see flabby anything hanging out of clothes -- but that also goes for thin girls in low rise jeans with that muffin top thing. That goes back to proper fit.
(disclaimer: I have flabby parts but they will never see the light of day unless I am hit by a car or fall over unconscious. )

I think it should mimic the styles to a degree. I dont think some of the styles that they have out now would be flattering on someone who might be a plus size or pregnant. An example would be the skinny jean. I think that look is very hard to pull off regardless of size. But in the end it comes down to how properly the cloths fit the person.

Re: Trendy Maternity fashions or Plus sized fashions
I am plus sized and a few years ago when stores started to carry more trendy clothes, Iwas very excited because I felt I was finally able to wear some things that other people were wearing.
However I've noticed that this season some places are taking it a little too far -- with sexy tops, stretchy skinny jeans, etc. Although I think it is great for plus sized girls to have the trendy options, I think they need to keep the body types in mind and still offer some more conservative clothing in the stores for the girls who don't want to bare everything, especially when it won't look very good on them.
