Trial Transfer?
So i called my Re office and they said they wont see me till around day 14 of my cycle and they said the 1st thing they will do is the trial transfer? What is that and does it hurt? ill be going in around the 21st of this month for this just trying to get myself ready for everything coming ahead!

They insert a catheter to see if it goes in easily. Just to make sure they have no problems once they do your transfer. It doesn't hurt and only takes a minute

I never had one, probably because I had numerous IUI's prior to my IVF cycles.
I believe a trial transfer is so they can determine the depth or something of your uterus. During a real transfer, they use a catheter to transfer the embryos into your uterus being guided by an abdominal sono. I believe this is how they do the trail transfer as well, minus the embryo's of course. It doesn't hurt at all, just uncomfortable like a pap. Actually for me, the most uncomfortable part is the speculum.
