Tried to go swimming today in my friends' community pool....
She lives in a townhouse in Jersey. We brought the babies out to the pool and the lifeguard wouldn't let us swim b/c he said that it is "state law" that they have to be wearing plastic swim pants over their swim diapers?? I've never heard of swim pants or even seen them before. Was this guy full of it??

No, he very well might be right. Some places do have such rules.
ETA: I have seen such plastic swim pants. I just saw some today in Fairway of all places.

I have seen pools with that rule before - I think they do it just to decrease the risk of contamination in the pools. I have seen them in BRU and other baby stores.

I was a lifeguard in many different places. Each place I worked, they had a different rule for swim diapers, or plastic pants over diapers. It's so confusing!

Re: Tried to go swimming today in my friends' community pool....
I live in NJ and went to my town pool with a friend and they wouldn't let my son go in the pool without plastic diapers. They actually kept a supply of them there and gave me one to use. We ended up not joining so I didnt need to buy any but I am sure /bRU would carry them
