Trip Insurance
My family and I are scheduled to fly out for my sisters wedding in the next week. My grandmother who is not scheduled to go has just been in/out of the hospital the last few weeks. We didnt purchase trip insurance originally as she just recently got sick.
I was wondering if trip insurance would cover the expenses in the event that she become seriously ill, as my grandmother is not one of the passengers.
We are flying continental and I am having a hard time finding specific cases on their website. I've only found family members illness, but no description as to who that includes

Re: Trip Insurance
I *think* the trip insurance only covers whoever is traveling. Not 100% sure though.

Re: Trip Insurance
The Trip Insurance will cover the people with the tickets. It will allow you to cancel your plans if you decide to cancel your trip, and you will get to keep the money that you paid for the trip.
Depending on the trip insurance you have, it will also cover those who have the tickets if you were to get sick on your trip etc.
It will not cover your grandmother's expenses (if I was reading your question right.)

Re: Trip Insurance
Some insurance would cover depending on the policy you bought but unfortunately I think you had to buy it within 10-14 days of booking your trip in order for it to cover pre-existing conditions.
You could go to insure my trip You can compare major companies policies on there and see if any of them would cover you for this issue - but I think you are too late (depending on when you booked the trip).
etd to add if I read you correctly you are asking if it would cover you and your family if something happens to your grandmother and you have to delay, cancel or leave during your vacation due to her illness.
