Triple glass windows

Does anyone have any? If so, do you notice a difference in the tint of the window? Is it much darker?

I see you answered on my other post about where everyone got their's. Did you get your windows at Tristate? That's is where I am probably going to go.

When I was shopping for windows the majority of the companies steered me away from triple glass windows stating I would not recoup the cost difference in energy savings over a quality double glass window. If we were in a colder climate than LI then it might be worth it.

I know that you were not asking this in your original post, but I thought it might be relative information.

Thanks so much. I am looking into it in a certain part of my house as I have a noise issue with neighbors and it may help with that a tiny bit more than double windows. I just was told by someone it makes the windows very much darker.

There are companies that specialize in sound proof windows and can probably keep the original windows if you like look of what you have in place already. I don't want to post links, but if you do a google search for "soundproof windows" you should see a few options pop up.

They seem to specialize in this issue, because its not always just about the window there are pockets around the window that can be modified to decrease noise from getting in.

Sorry about your noise issue. It's funny when I moved from Queens to LI I thought it would be nice and quiet, but it seems someone is always mowing a lawn or blowing some leaves near by.. haha go figure..

Thanks so much. I actually googled the other night and found a company that specializes in that. Our windows have to be replaced no matter what. My living room window has a couch in front of it and the last few winters we couldn't even open the curtain all day as the cold air was on our necks. I know the noise will be there still no matter what, but when we decided to replace windows, I want to just try to somehow make it a little better with the noise. I kept coming up with the triple window and was told it will help. Yes, blowing leaves, lawn mowers, guy screaming at his wife and kids, dog constantly barking. We don't have much property so this is all so close by.
