Trying again
Hey all. We have been trying for DC #2 for about 9 Mos now. Although that may raise some flags, I know, based on my cycles our timing is usually way off. This month we tried the digital opk as the strips were annoying to read to me. Got a today. Obviously bd tonight, but how many days in a row should we? Ds was so easy, so this is kind of new territory. Also tried preseed as well.Any success stories with that?
Also, in case this month is a wash, can someone recommend their cycle app? I have my calendar and it has failed to average out my cycles, always giving me a 28/29 day cycle, when it seems I'm usually 32 days based on the past months I've been tracking everything.
How long to people over 35 usually try before panicking?

Re: Trying again
Welcome! My first I got pregnant on the first try, and with my second it took almost a year. So Hopefully it happens soon for you! I don't use an app, just opks. Usually after 35 you can talk to a dr after 6 months of trying. But if you are sure you haven't been tracking right etc then give it some time before you panic. However, I now need thyroid meds which I didn't for my first. So you could have something small going on too. So maybe try a couple more months?

Re: Trying again
I wouldn't use an app. They're based on a 14-day LP, and if yours isn't 14 days, then it will be wrong. OPKs are much for effective for predicting ovulation.
Over 35 yo, the general guidelines are to try for 6 months before seeking help.

Re: Trying again
I would say after 6 months of trying with what you feel is optimal timing. If your timing has been way off then those cycles really don't count toward trying. If you got your smile today you could BD the next 3 days or today and Wednesday. When I was TTC I was told every other day is better than everyday because it gives the male time to regenerate more sperm, but a lot of people have been more successful with the every day method.
Good luck!!!!

Re: Trying again
Thank you! We bd the day of and then skipped a day and then we bd the follow day. I hope that does the trick. We had to skip the day often the lh surge because it was such an exhausting day. I hope it's no big deal.

Trying again
When I got pregnant with DS I had gotten a smiley on OPK that morning. We DTD that night and that was is. All it took. And I was 38 at the time.

That's awesome! Let's just hope! I'm a little crampy today on and off. Don't know what that's about. Too far after my positive opk to be ovulation I think (1 week). So I'm trying to be hopeful, but I'm kinda doubtful since I don't know if this is pms or something.
