Trying "on my own"

Day 3. Very proud of myself..Went to CVS and didnt reach down for that Recess Peanut Butter cup I usually reach for.
Went to Wendys..they now have "cold cut sandwiches" that are delicious..ordered one of those with a salad and no greasy fries.
I will let you know on Sunday how my week went completley.
Hopefully Im not too proud and get disappointed Sun. AM...
I hope to be on these boards a lot more.Chat Icon

Re: Trying "on my own"

Just a piece of motivation for the "trying on my own" girls. DH and I have been cutting back on our portion sizes and trying to eat less since New Year's. I have lost 18 pounds and DH has lost 25 pounds since January 1.

Keep it up, small changes can make a difference.

Definitely. 2 lbs. a week is definitely doable, and that would be 15 by mid-July.

So true...your best bet is to avoid Wendy's, BK & McD's...etc. all together. A lot of the items they try and pass off as "healthy" is definitely not.

It truly is the little things that you're doing that help. I've noticed that I eat WAY TOO MUCH...even the healthy things can be bad for you in large portions. Like Charon I'm working on cutting back my portions....eating slower really helps too. My DH eats soooo fast that I find myself unconsiously trying to keep up with him. Once I learned to just eat at my own pace...I know I'll see results.

Good luck! You can do it! Remember that losing healthy is a slow thing.Chat Icon

Chat Icon TY so much ladies! You are great motivators!
I, too, am trying to lose some weight for my brothers wedding, which is July 15th!
Funny how 2 of us are aiming for the same date.
I wont meet my "goal' weight by then, but, if I can say "byebye" to 15-20 lbs,,I will be very happy!Chat Icon

Good Luck!!

I found that looking up nutritional info from restaurants that I frequent really helps. In addition to specific restaurant sites, I found these helpful
