TTC a girl/healthy baby.
Ok so I know this sounds odd and I am honestly a little embarrased to be asking this question but we have decided to go for a 3rd pregnancy. We have to DS's who are my life, my world. I have to say knowing we are going for a 3rd I would like to try for a girl if possible. I am happy as long as it is healthy in the end but I am going to try for a girl if I can. I've heard there are certain things you can do to try for one gender - Any suggestions? And has anyone ever heard of this? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Re: TTC a girl/healthy baby.
From what Ive read...if you're trying for a girl you should as far away from ovulation as possible. They say female sperm are slow swimmers but live longer where as boy sperm are fast swimmers but die faster therefore for a girl you should a few days before you ovulate. HTH and I hope some other girls can give you more info.
ETA: So the theory is that if you a few days before O all the boy swimmers will die off by the time the egg arrives only leaving the female swimmers there to catch the egg.

Re: TTC a girl/healthy baby.
From what I read, you should BD everyday and stop 3 days before OV. It said if that doesn't work, you should move it to 2 days before OV. Then no for a few days after OV. You should use the missonary postion only and no big O!!
Yes, I read a book. I of course want a healthy baby, but I would love to have a girl. So I figured I would try it out. Of course who really knows if this works.
As the above poster wrote, female sperm live longer and male swim faster.
It also said you first have to figure out exactly when you OV.

Now this makes sense to me because statistically women outlive men!
