TTC advice
Just wondering if the expecting moms can share their TTC tips? What do you think helped you conceive? Is it bad to BD everyday during Ovulation week? Just curious...

Re: TTC advice
I temped and charted for a few months before and got nowhere. I know some ladies swear by charting and have had BFPs as a result, but I found that it made me a little nuts. I got pregnant in the month I took off from charting.
Also, I sleep erratically, which I think was a factor in why charting didn't work for me- you need to have a good three hours of solid sleep for an accurate temp. I get up at 5 am, so if I woke at 3 am or 4 am (which happened almost daily) I'd take my temp then. It was hard to get an accurate reading and most months, according to FF, I didn't O at all!
I'm not saying not to chart- who knows, when we want another baby I may try it again. But I wanted to share my experience. Good luck!

Re: TTC advice
I started by just temping and charting with OPK's. I had a hard time reading the OPK's so I bought the clearblue easy fertility monitor (which was so easy to use and really took the guess work out of it.)
While charting I learned that I had a short luteal phase (only 8 days) and started taking B complex vitamins. I also realized I did not produce EWCM so I started using preseed.
2 months after starting the B complex vitamins my LP increased to over 10 days. I used preseed, BD'd during my PEAK times (according to the monitor) & I got my BFP.
Try to relax and enjoy it (I know easier said then done))
Good luck

Re: TTC advice
Thanks for all of the help. I know relaxing is something I should try to do, but I already had a m/c so I know that will be hard for me. I am going to do my best though. Thanks again! I will take all feedback.

Re: TTC advice
I actually got pg the cycle I did NOT temp (decided I needed to take a break from the "obsession") but I did know when I was O'ing from the previous months of temping. We did use pre-seed but not a lot and I really just tried to relax and have fun (per my doctor's orders!). I think we BDed just about everyday right before O (maybe skipped a day somewhere in between).
Good luck!!

Re: TTC advice
I stopped drinking caffeine, and used a fertility monitor! And taking prenatals is probably a good idea!

Re: TTC advice
We used ovulation predictor sticks and did not BD everyday, more like every other. I began prenatals and had stopped drinking as well.

Re: TTC advice
OPKs, used mymonthkycycle.com and fertilityfriend.com, grapefruit and pineapple juice (before/after O), green tea, raspberry tea, hips up after BD, and primrose/omega-3 supplement as well as prenatals.

tell me about it - making babies was the last thing on my mind that night - of course, this baby was conceived, most probably, on the couch after a bottle of wine....

I really dont think the relax advice works....Its hard to relax when your TTC .....
I think being proactive and researching till you KNOW all the answers to your questions is step one!

Re: TTC advice
I have no advice on how to "chart" or anything like that. I have no idea when I ovulate, no idea what my temperature was or is. I kept it with prayer and it worked for me!!

Yes I agree-if I "relaxed" I would not be on my way to finding out my issues that can not be helped by "relaxing"

Re: TTC advice
I was incredibly proactive before TTC - I charted for several months and bought the Clear Blue Fertility monitor. However, and ironically - we started trying on our honeymoon and everything got "messed up" b/c of the time changes and the CBFM was not working right and my temps seemed "off" and I was sure it wouldn't happen. But we BD every day (sometimes 2x a day - it was our honeymoon ) and here I am with 6.5 weeks to go!!
ETA: I did not stop drinking or anything - I didn't get drunk or anything but our last stop on HM was Napa and blood systems don't mix the early.

Re: TTC advice
Thank you. Well I charted last month, so I will continue to do that. I am taking prenatals, and I am going to do my best to cut out the caffine. I just hope that we get the timing right this month!

Re: TTC advice
I charted before to NOT TTC. My the time it came to TTC, I knew my body well. BDing when your body wants to (ie "relax" which is easier said than done) was the way to go.
We also had a m/c so after the 2nd BFP we had a tough time relaxing after the BFP but not before. We got PG immediately both times. The second time I din't let DH know about where I was in my cycle so he didn't see it as a job.
Good luck!
