ttc and crashing here- success stories
Hello, crashing here. After having a polup removed in Dec, dh and I are still trying after 6-7 months but I would love to here success stories just in case we have to go the RE route. If this cycle is not a success for us, my ob said call he'll see me right away to discuss clomid in case I'm not ovulating but that's just my opinion. Now I'm not thrilled about the idea of putting meds into my body but if it will help, then its worth it. I know proper monitoring is key.
I wanted to know how long you ladies tried and what you had to do before you got a bfp.
Thank you. Feel free to Fm me.

ttc and crashing here- success stories
I had polyps removed 2 different times. After that it took me 2 years to get PG and it had zero to do with the polyps. I was diagnosed with unexplained IF. I did 2 unseccessful IUIs and was goign to start IVF when I got PG on my own.
During my Csection my OB found endo on my ovaries.
Please see an RE rather than your OB for IF issues. There can be so many things wrong and my guess is the polyps isn't the reason.....once they are removed it shouldn't be an issue. They can deter impnatation if you left them but since they are gone you should be good with respects to that.
Also, most OB will not monitor you like a RE. I did my IUIs with my OB and he did montior me but it was a nightmare scheduleign things because they are not set up like a clinic and do not have the extended hours that are needed many times for IF treatments.
GL and you can get a tone of recs on REs on here. I saw one in the city cause it was convenient to work.

So I've heard. So what does it actually do? Produce the eggs? Then a trigger or something will release them?

yes, makes you produce more/mature follicles which then have to be triggered (leupron or HcG) to ovulate. Not all follicles yeild a mature egg...
Good Luck... I agree with PP, dont talk to your OB about IF issues...thats like seeing a Podiatrist for a heart issue...

ttc and crashing here- success stories
I had a fibroid in my uterus removed in Feb and it grew back 2 months later. It took me 18 months to get pg. Skip the ob and go straight to the RE. They got me pg in 2 cycles. It took 3 iuis with injections and clomid. I was iffy about the meds too but honestly none of them are bad.

Yes I remember your story. Thank you for responding. That's awesome that 2 cycles did the trick.

ttc and crashing here- success stories
i have PCOS and wasn't ovulating regularly (i was sure because I temped). my OB gave me clomid after 6m but i switched to an RE right away cause I didnt trust doing clomid on my own with no monitoring. clomid didn't do anything for me at all. the next 10 months or so i did on and off injectable timed intercourse cycles. got pregnant twice and had chemicals both times. moved on to IVF after 5 total injectable and got pregnant on my first IVF. it was 18m since we started TTC but not as many cycles since I wasn't ovulating on my own.
i will tell you before i went through infertility i hated the idea of putting anything unatural into my body. thats part of the reason we never did IUIs, i just wanted some semblance of "natural" as part of the process even though i was pumping myself with meds to ovulate and then maintain a pregnancy. when that didn't work and i had to move on to IVF it was almost like i had to go through a tiny little grieving process and let go of wanting to do anything natural. well IVF did work for me and i can tell you 16m after delivering my daughter - it doesnt matter at all how you get pregnant or how you build your family. once your baby arrives it just becomes something that makes you stronger and more appreciative.

Re: ttc and crashing here- success stories
I have PCOS and do not ovulate on my own. FOr me, a few rounds of Clomid worked.
The first time I needed Clomid/Metformin combo to conceive my DS 5 years ago
This time I needed Clomid and Progesterone, and am now pregnant with twins.
Each time took a few tries, and I had various setbacks. Cyts that needed to be watched, etc.. but in the end it has all worked out.
GOOD LUCK!!

please skip the OBGYN and go straight to an RE! you will never get the ind of monitoring you will need to get pregnant with an OBGYN, plus, their hours will be much more friendly with your schedule than with a regular OBGYN. for me, I was not ovulating strong enough. I started with 2 cycles of 50mg of Clomid with my OBGYN and i got nowhere. i did 1 cycle of 100mg of Clomid with my OBGYn and again nothing. i did one cycle of 100mg of Clomid with my RE but none of the follies matured enough. i did one cycle of 150mg of Clomid with my RE, triggered and am now 21w2d with our first LO!

So glad the Clomid worked for you. Was the Metformin taken orally? I guess Clomid is always the first choice then the RE's move on from there.

When you mention that you weren't ovulating 'strong enough,' does that mean you were releasing an egg but it wasn't sticking, or getting a +OPK but not releasing an egg? This is what I want to find out about myself.
Now does the combo of triggeting and Clomid give the eggs a "push?"

Re: ttc and crashing here- success stories
i had a previous dx of endo so i knew when we first started TTC that i would need to move onto a RE quickly. First we TTC on our own for about 4 months then went to my OB. OB did blood work (which all came back normal) and gave me a script for clomid 50mg. i took clomid for 3 months from days 5-9 without any monitoring. I was only temping. After the 3rd month i decided to see a RE. The RE did lots of blood tests, HSG, saline sono and it was found that my endo was blocking my eggs from reaching the tubes. We were told that IVF was probably our only chance but it was such a big step to make so quickly. So we opted to try one cycle of clomid with IUI. Since it was thru the RE i was monitored. That cycle did not work for us, so we moved onto IVF. On our 2nd cycle of IVF w/ ICSI we got pregnant! I am now 32w2d pregnant w/ twin girls!
good luck, fm me if you have any questions.
