tubal ligation
I was just wondering what does everyone think of Tubal Ligation if you know you are not having anymore children? I hope this doesn't offend anyone.

Re: tubal ligation
If I end up with another c/s with this baby, I'm definitely closing up shop at the same time.

Re: tubal ligation
A friend of mine did it after she had her 3 boys.
Then she got divorced and remarried and just went through IVF (and a LOT of expense) to get PG again with her new husband. She's having twins

Yes, but how old is she? If I were to have a 3rd I would be at least 38 if not more. I cant imagine being preggo at 40.

Re: tubal ligation
My friend had one this year after her 4th child was born. At 31 she said she is done. She is very happy with her decision.

Re: tubal ligation
My mom had one at 30 after #3. Her pregnancies were difficult and more kids was not a good idea.
Personally, I would not do it unless I was having a c/s and it could be done at the same time (I think that was how my mom did it, not sure.)
Frankly, it's less invasive for the man to get snipped. I think that will be our plan when we have kid(s). My BIL had one and he said it was not that bad.

This is our plan as well. I know several men who did it and were fine with it.

Re: tubal ligation
my dad decided to get "snipped"after my brother (their 3rd child)
They were 31 and 32..... I think they regretted it in the end....had he not done it...they wouldve went for the 4th...
I wouldnt do it....
Someone I work with is having her's reversed...new hubby..so she wants a child with him...

Re: tubal ligation
I believe that after pregnancy and L&D the husband should have the "procedure". It is an in-office visit. Tubal ligation is a surgery with anesticia and has many more risks and a longer recovery period. My mother had it 30 years ago and never regretted the decision. My best friend's husband got "fixed" after they had 2 children. He was 25 and they never regretted it either.
My husband told me to say the word and he will go..but I am not ready for that just yet. But when I am that is the route we will take.

Re: tubal ligation
Thank you ladies. The reason I ask is because I am having c-section so I thought I would do it being I was already open.
