Tupperware and other plastic containers

I have a full double cupboard full of this stuff, it falls out when I open the door. I need a way to keep it neat and conatined. I really don't think I need as much as I have...big containers, small containers...please offer suggestions to organize it, and keep it neat

I swear my containers multiply but the lids go away.....

I usually go through my cabinet 2 times a year and just get rid of some

I have smaller ones stacked in bigger ones. I keep the lids in larger rectangular shaped ones. It's not perfect, but it keeps them all in the cabinet.

Re: Tupperware and other plastic containers

I used to keep them organized in a basket in a cabinet. A few months ago, i had to throw them all out and bought all rubbermaid ones with the stacking lids /

Re: Tupperware and other plastic containers

like CathyB, we try to stack them. we use our rectangular ones very regularly (store leftovers, lunches for work...). That stack is in one cabinet, with the lids stacked next to them.

then we have a crazy cabinet with all the round, square, and odd shaped ones. That one we try not to open too frequently Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Tupperware and other plastic containers

Tupperware sells lid holders so that you can keep all the lids organized and then I just stack the bowls together.

We got rid of our old containers a while ago (gave them to DH's mom) and bought this thing. We Chat Icon it, keeps everything need & tidy in a single cabinet.

Re: Tupperware and other plastic containers

I stack the smaller inside the larger and put the lids that go with those containers right underneath each pile.

I started getting the same types/sizes from restaurants we would frequent so I have at least 15 that are exactly the same. It makes it a lot easier to store.

If you do decide to get rid of old ones, please don't throw them in the trash. You can give them to people who need them, use them in the garage or shed to hold screws, nails, etc. or try to donate them to the Material Resource Center or Freecycle.

These containers are #5 plastic which most towns won't accept in recycle bins so they all wind up in a landfill. Chat Icon
