Turks and Caicos VS Bahamas
DH and I want to plan a long weekend trip for Feb. We're debating between T&C and Bahamas. We need a relatively short flight (seeing as it's only a long weekend trip) and a place w/ great beaches/hotels. Anyone been to Atlantis in the Bahamas? That's the place we're looking into. I know the flight is only 3 hrs and JetBlue goes there.
But anyone have info on T&C? What airlines go there, how long is the flight, what are good hotels?? Any info is MUCH appreciated! Thanks!

Turks hands down over Bahamas...T &C has the best beaches and snorkeling in the world... about a 1 hour flight or so from Miami...T & C can be expensive but so worth it!!! The Ocean Club hotels are nice

Re: Turks and Caicos VS Bahamas
We went to Atlantis is July and stayed at the brand new Reef and it was AMAZING!!!!! I actually had been to the Bahamas before and stayed at The ROyal TOwers and let me tell you The Reef was sooo much better!! But in Feb. I am not sure what the weather is like in the Bahamas. Truthfully I am sure The Turks and Caicos is a much nicer island, but The Reef was absolutely GORGEOUS and I would go back and always stay there! Hard decision, but at least you get to go somewhere!!!

Re: Turks and Caicos VS Bahamas
We just went to Atlantis in May for our anniversary and had a great time. DH loved the water park. You can easily go from the pool to the beach. And they also have a nice casino to go to. The food was incredible. We stayed at the Cove and it was beautiful.

FYI---I would check and see how the hotels in Turks and Caicos fared during the last hurricane that hit there(Gustav I believe)I heard that almost 90 percent of the buildings were heavily damaged.

Re: Turks and Caicos VS Bahamas
Depending on what day you are flying out check the flights to Turks and Caicos....They dont have direct flights every day. If you are looking for more to do then I suggest the Bahamas. Although Turks and Caicos is BEAUTIFUL, there really is not much to do there at all.

Not on Provodenciales, the main resort island...the Island of Grand Turk was hit hard!!!!

Re: Turks and Caicos VS Bahamas
hmmm...what's more important to you: great beach or great hotel?
beach = T&C, hotel = atlantis
As convenient as they are, I don't think I'd go back to either, unless to try a different island in the bahamas (other than nassau/paridise island).
