Turning down a position?

I interviewed today. After hearing the job description, I wanted to run out of the interview. (Ok, maybe that's melodaramatic. There was nothing wrong with the job. It just wasn't my cup of tea). And I don't want the principal calling mine and telling him that I interviewed.

I wasn't offered the job; this was really only a "screening" round. But is there a polite way to tell them I'm not interested in even being considered?

I *highly* doubt the principal will call your principal. They just don't do that. Chat Icon

I wouldn't worry about the job until you get a follow-up call. IF they call you back, just politely decline a 2nd interview. If they don't call, you have nothing to worry about. Chat Icon

Re: Turning down a position?

I agree with the above post. They usually call references after the 2nd round and/or demo. I'm just curious, what kind of position was it?

The interviewing principal said he was going to check references/call admins before the 2nd round, and asked if my principal knew I was interviewing. Apparently they know each other. Chat Icon
