Tutoring question
I am tutoring a child who just entered kindergarten. I'm new to the tutoring and I don't know kinder. as well as I know first. Obviously I want to start with assessment.. I'm just looking for some suggestions of things to do with the child other than just basic reading strategies. I haven't met her yet so I have no idea what she is capable of. Thanks in advance.

Re: Tutoring question
It's so early for a tutor! I would check for letter recognition, letter sounds, simple sight words, number recognition, counting, 1-1 correspondence while counting...ummmmm...read her a story and see if she has story recall and can relate to the story?
