twins and heartbeats
just found out today I'm having twins
I'm 6w1d and we only saw 1 heart beat
when is normal to see both?

I saw both heartbeats at 6w1d
However, it is also pretty common for one twin to be meausuring a day or 2 behind the other. That early, a day or 2 can make a big difference and could be why you didn't see the 2nd hb.

we saw both at exactly 6 weeks but thats doesn't mean anything. My doc made sure to tell me b4 he started the ultrasounds that we may not see anything yet. Sometimes twins measure a few days different.
When is ur next appt?
im sure by then they will be able to determine for sure if its 1 or 2

its clear there were 2 sacks and 2 blobs but inly 1 seems to have a hb now
I got back when I will be 8w1d

At 5w5d we saw three sacs and heard and saw 2 heartbeats. The 3rd sac never developed but we are going strong at 16 weeks with

i know me too!! i'm all teary eyed!!
when i went for my first they couldn't see the heartbeats at 6.5 weeks, then i went back at 7.5 weeks and they saw both heartbeats!!! good luck hon!!!!

I saw 1 around 5.5 weeks with another sac but no heartbeat. the next sono we saw 2 but the 2nd was low(99 and they like to see at least 100) Well FF 8.5 months later I had two healthy baby boys! Today, my little one is still littler and he had a tougher time breathing in the beginning, but is totally healthy .

Thanks girls. It was a very emotional roller coaster for us, but worth every second! We now have 2 very healthy, 3 week old, identical twin girls!

When we finally saw 2 heartbeats I was exactly 7w1d!!!

Aww thanks everyone for thinking of me I figured no one really wanted to know
we didn't see a 2nd hb but the fetus doubled in size. dr said its ok to not see a hb because it was only 7 weeks and it is growing, but the baby with the hb grew to 4x the size of what is was originally so that concerned her
She said its a 50/50 shot that it will work out, but to prepare that it won't
the nurse also reminded me 'your not a mother until you have a baby in your arms" 
and the dr said "you don't really want twins, thats to much work all at once and then you have to pay for cllege all at once"
very glad to be leaving and going to my ob, even though I'm a strong person I did at those comments.
I go to my ob at 9 weeks (may 12) and I was not scheduled for a sono until 12 weeks but at 9 weeks if there isn't a hb, we will know for sure its not going to stick, so I called the ob and asked for a sono and explained what was going on. they had no issue with it.
so now I ask for lots of 
I know I need to be greatful for 1 because i wasn't even supposed to have that, and I am, i swear but it was always my dream to have twins

I'm sending you lots of that your LOs are ok. I know it is good news that the first baby is doing so well, but that doesn't make it any easier. Yes, we are all blessed just to have one baby, but it doesn't ease the pain of possibly losing the other.
I hope your second is a slow starter. There have been worse odds than 50/50. Glad Baby A is going strong!!!
And I'm sorry, but I think I would've punched that doctor if they said that to me. I'm also glad your OB is going to give you an earlier sono than 12 weeks so you can know what's going on.
Please keep us posted.

I would LOVE to know what the purpose of saying that was. 
I never had the chance to hold my first baby in my arms... at least not without my belly in between us.. and I still do consider myself a mother.
I would have been ENRAGED!!
