Twins- Anthony & Frankie- 7/6/10
My birth story, Im no writer so just sharing my details :)

I had a scheduled c-section which put me at 38wks. If you know with twins, that is a MAJOR milestone to make and I made it! I made it through this pregnancy with no bed rest or complications so I was confident on making it to that day.
I have to say that I was happy to have gone that day, cause my body couldnt take much more.
I had a vaginal, Natural birth with my DD so going into this c-section had me nervous and scared.
Arrived at hospital, Winthrop at 7:30am, and had the best care there, pre surgery.
I was taken in for my 9:30 ish surgery, where I was given my spinal, then NUMB i went and laid down as they prepped me for the rest.
Dh was brought in. All I know is that I had the hardest time staying awake!
HA!
Then I hear, ok daddy, here comes baby #1 and they asked DH to come look over the sheet w/camera as he captured my 1st son, Anthony arrive into our world.
I heard a cry, I cried, then looked at DH who also cried.
A minute later, Baby #2 arrived, Frankie
I was brought over my babies to meet for the 1st time.
An amazing feeling to experience, not one but two!
I chose to tie my tubes so this was done right after my c-sec.
Recovery for me was a long time, about 6 hrs, due to me having twins.
While in recovery, I was able to nurse both babies and then they were taken to get cleaned and checked.
This is where I got the biggest scare when I had a nurse come over to tell me that my babies werent cooperating and their blood sugar was low and they would be in NICU.
All Im thinking is, uh....did you see their weights? I was 38wks. My babies shouldnt be in NICU!
Nurse advised that they needed to be there to monitor it and to offer antibiotics in if there was infection. DH and I literally just looked at each other and didnt know what to think, say, do at this point but left this in the hands of the staff of NICU-Winthrop.
Frankie was the 1st one to make it out, which happened the next day mid afternoon. I was able to see Anthony since I wasnt bed ridden anymore and got a wheelchair and went down to NICU. He was kept longer since his IV and meds were given later in day and he needed 12hrs to be released.
That didnt happen till day 3, when i finally got both in the nursery and they were together.
I was finally able to go home on Sat day 5, where I was walking around and my incision was looking great and babies were doing good.
Being home with them has been good. Lots of help has been given! we are doing our best to get them on a schedule.
I never thought that I would ever have twins and I am truly blessed with having these little miracles.

I am sorry they had to go to NICU but I am glad everyone is doing well now. Lots of love and congrats!!! Can't wait to see more pics!

So now you and I have a Gianna and Anthony....It's the first thing I thought when I saw the names...

Congrats. Winthrop is amazing...I had my twins there back in 06. They are gorgeous, enjoy every minute with them and work hard on getting them on a schedule. It's the only way to go with multiples!!

Congratulations I'm so glad you had a great experience at Winthrop. I'll be delivering my twins there and have heard some great things about them.

I am so glad your C-section experience was good! I know the feeling you had when they tell you that your baby is going to NICU bc it happened with JJ for the same thing, antibotics.
Glad you are now home with your two new sons & big girl G!!!!
