Two birthday questions: music & entertainment related
for DS' first birthday I'm just setting up an ipod to play music. Its mostly adults (about 35 adults) and then maybe 4 kids (ranging in age from 2 - 9).
First, what type of music would you play at the party?
Secondly, I didnt hire any type of childrens entertainment (like a clown) because we only have 4 kids. Is there anything I should do or have available for them to keep occupied?

Music - whatever you like to listen to
Regarding the entertainment you definately don't need especially if there are only 4 children. For my ds' birithday the kids ran around the backyard and played on the swing set. I also picked up some coloring books, crayons, and stickers for them to use.

Personally when I take my kids to a party I really appreciate it when the hosts have something for them. Low cost stuff such as bubbles, hula hoops, play doh. Maybe some 99cent junk. Kids love that for a little while.. BUT it is definitely not expected.

Music - anything adults like
Child's entertainment- blow up some beach balls, maybe some Rocket Balloons= http://www.rocketballoons.com/
Also you can go to Michael's & pick up some crafts. I'm sure it would go over well. Most of the backyard kid parties I've been to have a craft table set up - it gives something for the older kids to to (teach the younger ones)
