Two completely different questions for food allergy moms...
I always carry CVS brand generic Benadryl with me because it comes in nifty little individual doses. I've noticed now for the past several months that the product is discontinued, so what do I do when my stash is expired? Carry an entire bottle around everywhere?
Next, has anyone gotten the new EpiPen alternative...Auvi-Q? I just got it last week and it is very cool--it's much smaller and has voice directions, so it's foolproof. The best part is that my allergist gave me a coupon so that the copay--which would've been $75--was completely free! (Meanwhile, my Epi copay was like $135!)

I carry an entire bottle of Benadryl along with 2 epi pens. I keep them in a zippered pouch and on me at all times.
I actually was able to get my epi free also! They have some $0 copay cards or $100 off (my copay for epi is only $20). We tend to have LOTS of epi pens hanging around. 2 with me, 2 at school, 2 with daddy, 2 at home.

I believe the cvs brand single dose benadryl has been discontinued for a while. I was able to still find the walgreens version, but those seem to be gone now too. I can't understand how these companies stop making things like this, when the # of people with allergies in increasing. I even called up benadryl and asked why they stopped manufacturing them and the woman had no answer.

The single dose benadryl in all varities is gone. I emailed benadryl and they said the manufacturer that did the packaging went out of business. I even asked our allergist if ther was a prescription single dose and there is not. If your child is a little bit older (my DS is 4) you can ask you dr if you can use the meltaways (which are hard to find too) or the chewables (even though they say 6 yo on the package).
We have Auvi-Q LOVE the size. I would say if your LO is in school make sure they know what it is - my DS school had not seen it before so we had to bring in the trainer and show them. It is much more convienent than the epi pen (especially when my DH has my DS - he can put it in his back pocket).

We have the Auvi-Q and love it. Much better for someone to use.
I hate carrying the Benadryl bottle, haven't found a solution yet. I had a leaky bottle and it was a mess.
