My gf had this and everything was fine. She required more ultrasounds and they watched her closer but the baby was 100% fine Chat Icon Chat Icon

I have it. It is definitely very scary, but with proper monitoring, and the sonograms, they can rule out a lot of the potential issues.

I had to go for a fetal echo to rule out heart defects. The Level II sonogram ruled out a cleft lip and they were pleased with the growth.

A comfort to me was that there is no less blood flow to the baby with just the one artery.

Re: two vessel umbilical cord?

I had this with DS. It was so scary and I did the one thing that I shouldn't have-I googled info. The web scared the crap out of me. I went for a ton of growth sonos, the dr.s checked him out thoroughly and luckily everything was fine.
I was told this effects boys more than girls and usually the vein and artery makes up for what is missing.
FM me if you have any more questions.
