File under bad timing: Hachette Filipacchi Media is teaming up with remodeling guru Ty Pennington for a new special-interest shelter magazine, Ty Pennington At Home.

The announcement’s timing is awkward for Hachette and Pennington, who was arrested over the weekend on a DUI charge. The host of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition released a statement apologizing for his “lapse in judgment.”

Under the circumstances, Pennington may also be regretting some of the language in the magazine. A Thai-themed menu includes a recipe for “Tytinis” and encourages readers to “Thai one on.” A DIY column shows readers how to build their own wine rack.

A Hachette spokesperson did not return calls seeking comment.

The one-time issue, which comes from Hachette’s Woman’s Day Special Interest Publications unit, will go on sale on newsstands May 15 with a $4.99 cover price and feature gadget, decorating, organizing and lifestyle tips and information.

Initial distribution is 650,000. Hachette hopes to publish the magazine quarterly next year.
